“We charge about $20 for the items, so we make about $9 profit on each item. Last year we raised about $2500. We raise money for our Outdoor Education trip. The amount we made last year covered about a third of the total cost of the trip. It is the perfect match because we are selling evergreens in order to raise money to get outside into the forest.”
Angela Hambleton of Lafayette Elementary 5th Grade in Colorado
“The greens sale is good for us because we make about $8 profit on every item. So, if a boy sells 10 items, he makes $80. It is a real motivator, because that goes into their activity account. We got’em hooked on the greens down here. I said that our fish fry next week was the last fundraiser of the season and everyone said ‘What! You’re not selling greens!’ I said, ‘Wait, that’s next season. Don’t worry, we’re selling greens!’”
Jack Chamberlain of BSA Troup #70 in Florida
“Customer service staff was extremely helpful. I would recommend Sherwood Forest Farms to any group looking for a profitable fundraiser...
Your customer service is the best! You folks are efficient, helpful and so warm and friendly. I wish all vendors were so terrific! Thanks!”
Cathy Kubo of Orangetharpe KCD School in California
“It is a pleasure to work with Sherwood Forest Farms. Our Parents Club sells the evergreens to help support the school. The customer service is excellent, the color coding of the products makes delivery of the evergreens easy.”
Chuck Shanaberger of Central Catholic High School in Illinois
“Sherwood Forest Farms does a wonderful job providing great evergreens and excellent customer service. I have personally been in charge of this fundraiser for 18 years. Sherwood does a great job and I will continue to use their fundraiser. Last year we made $16,000. We use our profits for our Awards Banquets, Military Ball and Special Dining Out Night and to upgrade our computers. As for incentives each student has a $300 quota to meet. After they meet that quota, they receive $1.00 for each wreath they sell and 50 cents for every other product.”
SMSgt Bill Deal of Edmonds High AFJROTC in Oklahoma
“I must add that over the many years I have chaired our sale, I have never had anything but excellent help from Sherwood’s office. Everyone is so very friendly, helpful, forgiving of my mistakes and just a joy to work with!!.....Thank you all so very much.”
Jane Manley of Grandview Orthopedic Auxiliary in Washington
“I really encourage every boy to participate heavily in this fundraiser because it is one of our most successful fundraisers. The funds go directly to the boys' personal scout activity accounts to pay for their scouting expenses for trips, camp, jamborees, etc. We have earned more than $5000 a season some years. We have been using Sherwood for as long as we can remember. You guys are just the best. I like to tell everyone I know that is looking for a fundraiser about Sherwood Forest. I hear sometimes people have horror stories about their fundraisers and I always tell them about you guys because we are always happy with you and never have any problems.”
Judy Nielson of BSA Troop #853 in Arizona
“The local public schools do not have extracurricular activities or sports, so most kids in the area have to go to private institutions for that sort of activity. Our proceeds from fundraising go towards half the cost of each child’s tuition for gymnastics. We have about 3 or 4 major fundraisers every year. The Sherwood greens sale is our most successful fundraiser. We have had several students win the state title in their level. This year several seniors are going to Nationals. This helps pay for those costs.”
Kathy Sova of Del Marva Competitive Gymnastics in Maryland
“Our group’s experience with Sherwood is really, really good. We haven’t had any problems and we have been in charge for the last 4 years and the troop has used Sherwood for as long as I can remember. I have always found that whoever answered the phone is most helpful, always willing to find an answer. We send about 90 kids to summer camp and this pays for most of it. We don’t need another fundraiser because Sherwood is profitable enough. It doesn’t take as much leader power either. One person’s time spent on an auction or something is the same amount of time but less return. You just need to find the motivating factor for your group and that will make greenery an easy fundraiser.”
Lisa Wilson of BSA Troup #599 in Texas
“Great products, great customer service. Sherwood Forest Farms is an A+ company to work with. We make at least $8000 a year, one year we made $10,000. Our profits go into the general fund to help pay tuition for students. Once our customers order it is really easy, they will order every year after. We have been customers of Sherwood for at least 30 years. We keep a list from every year of people who have purchased evergreens and then when a student graduates, we can keep selling to their customers. Other fundraising products do not compare to the quality of Sherwood evergreens!”
Elizabeth Joiner of St. Mary’s School in Illinois
